The Forbidden City

When the Capitol of China moved to Beijing in the 15th c, the emperor built a city of 999 rooms. There were 5 main entry gates, and only the center one was to be used by the emperor.  It became a museum in the 1920's after Puyi-the last emperor of China- was moved to Manchuko to be the puppet emperor of the Japanese.
